CuCrZr 18150 Round Bars are a high-performance copper alloy product manufactured using a controlled composition of Copper with small additions of Chromium and Zirconium. This alloy, often designated as C18150 / DIN 2.1293 / EN CW106C / RWMA Class II, is widely known for offering an excellent balance of electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and mechanical strength. Unlike pure copper, which is very soft, CuCrZr 18150 retains good hardness and tensile strength even at elevated temperatures, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications.
The material typically contains around 1% Chromium and 0.1% Zirconium, which, after proper heat treatment and ageing, significantly improve strength and wear resistance while maintaining high electrical and thermal performance. Its electrical conductivity ranges between 70% to 76% IACS, and thermal conductivity is around 320 W/m·K, making it highly suitable for applications requiring efficient heat dissipation. Mechanically, the alloy offers a tensile strength of 350–440 MPa, yield strength around 300 MPa, and elongation between 8–15%, depending on the diameter and temper condition. The hardness generally falls in the range of 100–160 HB, providing good machinability and long service life under load.
